One of the great things about my job is the chance to reconnect with some of the simple childhood joys– playing, creating, finding joy in simple things. I was visiting a kindergarten class recently, and enjoyed the reminder of what it’s like to be open to all possibilities, to express thoughts and feelings so easily and freely, to just be, without the constraints and expectations society places on us as we mature.

My own memories of childhood aren’t all rainbows and unicorns, but once in awhile it’s nice to be reminded of a simple, joyous memory from a simpler, more joyful time. And every so often, being able to keep some of that feeling clutched in my hand, if just for a little while.
